Eco cremation
PRESPL’s eco-cremation initiative is redefining a centuries-old practice by introducing an environmentally responsible alternative to conventional wood-based cremations.
By replacing firewood with biomass briquettes, each eco-cremation conserves 400–450 kgs of wood and prevents the release of 740–832 kgs of CO₂ emissions. This not only helps protect forests but also improves air quality and public health by enabling a smokeless, efficient ritual.
To date, PRESPL has successfully facilitated over 10,000 eco-cremations across India. Already, eight cities, including Aurangabad our flagship location, have embraced this green revolution, with many more set to follow in the coming months.
Looking at the current pace of adoption, PRESPL’s initiative is projected to save 12,000–13,500 metric tonnes of wood and mitigate 22,000–25,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions over the next five years.
By embedding sustainability into a deeply cultural practice, PRESPL is proving that tradition and innovation can coexist while safeguarding the environment for generations to come.
