Transforming Crop Residue into Renewable Value
PRESPL’s upcoming project - BiocharIND - is a pioneering initiative in partnership with APChemi and Intellecap, is focused on converting agricultural waste into high-quality biochar, a valuable soil amendment and carbon sink. By deploying advanced pyrolysis technology, the project transforms crop residues that would otherwise be burned into biochar, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving soil health.
BiocharIND not only helps sequester carbon contributing to climate change mitigation, but also supports farmers by enhancing soil fertility and water retention.
This project aims to scale biochar production across India, creating new revenue streams for rural communities while advancing PRESPL’s mission of circular, sustainable bioeconomy solutions.
