Eco Chulha - Cleaner Cooking with Biomass Innovation
PRESPL’s Eco Chulha is a clean biomass cookstove engineered to replace traditional wood and fossil fuel-based cooking systems with an energy-efficient, low-emission solution powered by agricultural briquettes or pellets.
Ideally suited for commercial settings such as restaurants, hostels, and community kitchens, the Eco Chulha offers significant operational saving reducing fuel costs by up to 35 - 40% compared to diesel or LPG, improving indoor air quality and reducing carbon emissions.
A successful pilot of a household model was conducted in collaboration with environmental conservation organization TIEEDI in the tea garden communities of Darjeeling, West Bengal. The project demonstrated 100% user acceptance, driven by its affordability, ease of use, and positive environmental impact—reinforcing the Eco Chulha’s potential as a scalable solution within a circular bio-energy economy.
